The Bridge Homelessness to Hope recently visited the 109th Leicester (Countesthorpe) St Andrews Scout Group to talk to two Beaver Colonies groups (aged 6-8 years) about homelessness, what it means and how people can help those experiencing it.
As part of the work towards achieving their Community Impact Badge, the Beavers took part in a range of activities exploring the challenges faced by people who are homeless and discussed practical ways to make a difference in their community.
One of the Beavers suggested collecting blankets for the charity. The group embraced the idea and donated a fantastic collection of blankets, which were later taken to The Bridge Homelessness to Hope’s Hub for guests to use.

“To support the charity’s educational outreach activities, we were delighted to receive an invitation to visit the Beavers in Countesthorpe to talk to the group about homelessness. For such a young group, the Beavers were very thoughtful and considered about the challenges that our guests face.
“The blankets were warmly received by our guests, who were extremely grateful for the kindness and generosity shown by the Beavers. We would like to thank everyone involved for their support and for helping to raise awareness of homelessness in such a thoughtful way.”
Anna Illife, Operations Manager at The Bridge Homelessness to Hope
