FAQs

We've put together some responses to the questions you ask us the most.

1. What do you need for donations/where can I drop them off?

Clothes

We are currently in need of men's and women's clothing. In particular items such as jogger bottoms, jeans, new underwear, socks and trainers.

View our Amazon Wish List for a view list of clothing items that we are currently in need of.

We do not accept donations of used bedding e.g. duvets, pillows, bed sheets or used underwear.

Food

Food donations are also always needed, either by someone who is homeless or to cook meals for the guests that attend the sessions and Community Café.

Check out our Food Wish List for a full breakdown of the food and kitchen items we need.

Any items can be dropped off to us at The Hope Centre, 43 Melton Street, Leicester, LE1 3NB.

6. What are the monetary donations used for?

As a charity we have two different types of income – restricted and unrestricted.

Restricted can only be used for designated purposes such as staff salaries and specific projects. Whereas unrestricted, which are what donations are classed as, can be used for the general running costs of the charity, such as the food for breakfast & lunchtime meals, utilities and anything else we need to support our guests.
