A role for everyone
There’s an opportunity for almost everyone who shares our values and vision. No experience is necessary and you can get involved on a regular or ad-hoc basis, depending on what you do. Year-round volunteers receive induction sessions and an information pack. We can find a rewarding role for you if you are
- 18 or over
- willing to get stuck in
- able to encourage
We run three sessions every week to offer food and friendship to some of the most vulnerable people in Leicester. Volunteers are needed to help at least once a month at one of the following sessions which are all based at Kildare Street:
- Sunday afternoon (1500 – 1700).
- Thursday evening (1830 – 2000).
- Monday to Friday mornings (0600 – 0800) Breakfast Service to rough sleepers
You could be meeting rough sleepers on the street with soup and sandwiches or serving sit- down meals in an indoor venue. Wherever it is, volunteers and guests sit together to eat, drink and talk. All our volunteers seek to give direction, encouragement and practical help. Our Christian volunteers are always happy to discuss faith matters and we offer informal bible studies twice a week.
For more information on applying to be a volunteer at one of our meals – see How to become a Volunteer!
Most of the food we serve is donated by generous organisations and individuals. Could you collect donated food and deliver it to one of our centres once a month?
